Who is this fine-looking person entering my site? Here's the humble abode of Aural Night - a pianist, composer and a very good friend! If you like the music of Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre, and Mike Oldfield, you are sure to enjoy Aural Night's new album Voyage. The CD is instrumental (keyboard), ambient at times, somewhat New Age. People often say it reminds them of Vangelis. It probably sounds like a soundtrack to a film you haven't yet seen. Or you might have seen. Does Blade Runner sound familiar? Remember the soundtrack by Vangelis? How about 1492: Conquest of Paradise? Did you enjoy that? What about Vangelis' album Voices? Aural Night's Voyage moves effortlessly between these three albums, adding a bit of Jean-Michel Jarre in here and there. Voyage is a lush combination of melody, drama, and love - all set in the musical mindscape of one man - Aural Night. Composed with Korg Triton enhanced with on-board MOSS, the soundscapes are staggering. It is like a lost album of Vangelis of 1997 after acquiring a Korg Z1. Voyage follows the story of a sailing vessel which starts her journey in high hopes at a beautiful dawn at sea. The voyage takes many twists and turns and eventually ends in gloom as the ship sinks to her eternal, abysmal grave.
